Thank you

A huge thank you to all of our friends and family who made our wedding so special. We couldn't have imagined a more perfect day celebrating with everyone. Our hearts are filled with love from those who couldn't be there with us, all those who trekked to Seattle, those who live in Seattle and those who sent their well wishes from afar.

We will never forget a moment.

Official Roster: Bridesmaids

I have been lucky enough to have the following five lovely ladies agree to stand up with me for our wedding! I am incredibly blessed to have so many people to love and love me in return. Each one of them fills a special place in my heart!

Enough sap, on to the intros!

First up, Elizabeth Daleigh!  Bizzy, for short, is my baby sister and matron of honor. Bizzy is an EMT by day and a supermom to two adorable monsters, Rory and Makenna, by night. Despite her crazy schedule, I have never (well almost never) seen her have a bad hair day. Even her "I don't care" styles look fancy! I've known Elizabeth approximately her whole life. She lives in Englewood, Colorado with her husband, Jesse.

Next on deck, is Katie Hadlich! Katie is Steve's older sister and my new sister! Professionally, Katie works tirelessly for the non-profit CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), but she has to be recognized for incredible baking skills. I haven't met a cookie I could put down yet! Katie lives in Bowie, MD with her husband, Devin, and two precious blonde munchkins, Brendan and Ryan. I have known Katie almost as long as I have known Steve.

Rounding third is Miss Tess Dickman! Tess studied Interior Design with me at Philadelphia University and worked in NYC shortly after graduation. When she had enough, she moved all the way across the country to keep me company here in Seattle. Tess now kicks design ass for a small firm, NB Design Group, in downtown Seattle. Tess is always ready for an adventure and keeps a well stocked list of places to see. Oh, and she is definitely your go to girl for best drink recommendations!

Next in line is Lauren King! Lauren and I met in Design V our third year at Philadelphia University. She has always been Steve's biggest fan, even way back then. Lauren trekked across the country with Tess to live here in our Emerald City. She now works as an interior designer at GGLO. Lauren is the most organized, planner toting, anti-technology girl I know. I should probably send this to her on a postcard.

Last, but certainly not least, is Amber Young! Amber and I met her freshman year of college at a ΔΦΕ sorority recruitment event. Unfortunately for the universe, she shares my sense of humor and obnoxious qualities. It's like mini me, but taller and blonder! Amber recently became the proud owner of her very own Rita's franchise and new home outside (way outside) Philadelphia. She lives in Perkasie, PA with her gigantic puppy, Atlas, and boyfriend, Adam.

Under construction...

I have been dying to get a new website up and running. With a little help from Steve and Squarespace, we finally have one built!

I'll keep updating the site with more information as we get the details ironed out, photos taken, and wedding party assembled.

HOW WE GOT ENGAGED

June 9, 2014 — On our annual trip back to Philadelphia, Steve planned a night in Center City. We walked up Benjamin Franklin Parkway from City Hall to the Art Museum. Steve was exceptionally nostalgic about all the things we had done together on this walk.

When we reached the bottom of the Art Museum steps, I asked Steve to race to the top. He declined, but only so he wasn't out of breath at the top. Isn't he smart?

He walked me over to the spot we sat on our very first date. He took a deep breath and gave me his "prepared words."

"After our first date, I wrote a blog post about how taking you out was the smartest thing I've ever done...until this very moment. Will you be my wife?"

As anyone could imagine, I said, "Of course!"

Steve's parents met us at the top of the stairs for a quick congratulations and photo shoot. We are both so grateful they were there to join us!

With a little coaxing on my part, we called our friends and family to share the news. I was still in shock it finally happened, it took me a while to remember what to do next.

After that, we went to the restaurant we had our very first date, Bliss. How appropriate!

THEIR SHORT STORY

IMG_6021.jpg

Steve and Savannah met at a fraternity/sorority mixer in college more than 8 years ago. Who knew foosball, the Colorado skyline (more specifically the "cash register building") and Greek life would bring these two where they are today?

While Savannah finished up school, Steve worked his first year out of college in Philadelphia. After graduation, Steve and Savannah moved across the country to Seattle, WA. They have lived in Seattle together for five big and exciting years.
